FAIRY TALE ENDING, Robin Scofield

Fairy Tale Ending
by Robin Scofield

The werewolf at the party said
I am so tired of slaking my full moon blood lust
On the January wolf moon I ate a jackrabbit
It tasted terrible, all lean and stringy
I am so tired of being hairy
You can’t think what a drag it is in the summer
I break out in hives under the August corn moon
I am so tired of being insomniac once a month
It’s no help to read a book or watch a movie
I am so tired of reflecting the double side
for your veneer of satisfaction
I am so tired of taking my revenge
