IF THE SKY CAVED INTO ME, Johanne Boulat

If the Sky Caved Into Me
by Johanne Boulat

That tender evening alpine sky with all its starlings
Flying westward
Watching you and me—
The curve of our bodies crooked
In the groove of rocky could-have-beens

Tell me,
If the sky caved into me, would you look in instead of out?
Or blink, and ripple right back
To your too far satin darling?
