THE CLOUD IN MIDNIGHT SKY, David Lucas

The Cloud in Midnight Sky
by David Lucas

White novas
sputtered across
an endless canvas.
The immortal visage bifurcated
by a lonely wisp
of past indignations;
regrets that have cauliflowered
your ears and lips.

You comfort no one
as you confront the vast spaces
that swallow you
like the
deep
external noise—
the white hellish boom
erupting as blood
erupts from your honest heart
drowning you.
